:: Ingredients for Rice Kozhukattai
Parboiled Rice- 2 cups
Coconut grated- 1-11/2 cups
Salt to taste
Red chillies & Curry leaves- 2-3
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tbsp
Channa dhal- 1/2 tbsp
Urud dhal- 1/2 tbsp
:: How to make Rice Kozhukattai
1.Soak the rice in water for 2 hrs.
2.Drain the water & grind the rice with coconut in a
blender by adding little water
to it.
3.Make it to a fine paste and add salt to the mix.
4.Heat oil in a thick bottomed vessel,add mustard
seeds,urud dhal,channa dhal.
5.After the seeds crackle,add redchillies and curry leaves
to it.
6.Then,pour the dough and keep stirring in medium
heat,till it becomes thick.
7.Remove from stove,prepare oval balls(shape of an egg)
from this and steam
cook in idli pan(15-20 mins).
8.Remove from stove and the kozhukkattai is ready to be
served with chutney
and sambhar.
Note: This receipe can be had for dinner or for the
evening tiffin,and is very good
to be used for the next day too
