:: Ingredients for Chick Peas Curry / Channa
Chickpeas 8 oz
Onions - 1
Green chili - 2-3
Garlic - 4 cloves
Ginger - 2" piece
Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Cardamom -1
Cloves - 5-6
Cinnamon stick 1"
Paprika
Mango powder
Dried pomegranate seeds
Tomatoes - 1
Salt to taste
Oil
Ghee - 2 tbsp
:: How to make Chick Peas Curry / Channa
Clean, wash and soak the chickpeas overnight. Boil them in
the same water
with salt, finely chopped onion, cloves garlic, large
cardamom, a 1" piece of ginger and cloves. Simmer in pan
about an hour or
until tender, or pressure cook .
Heat oil. Fry thinly sliced remaining onions and cloves of
garlic.
Cook until mixture browns and dries up. Add finely chopped
tomatoes and cook 4-
5 minutes more.
Add the beans and cook for 10 minutes more. Add the mango
powder and
pomegranate seeds, grated ginger and simmer over low heat
for 15-20 minutes.
Before serving, pour sizzling ghee over the beans.
